This report discusses a study that identified innovative rural programs(i.e.,sets of practices, activities, and strategies), and used the results to recommend basic tools for rural organizations to start the steps necessary to move a program that is perceived to be effective into a promising practice.This resource also provides an overview of tools such as community building, grant-writing, data collection, and program definition, which may be useful to organizations that are interested in transitioning their unique and innovative behavioral health programs to promising practices.
