Description: This webinar will provide information about the efforts of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in meeting the behavioral health needs of military and veteran families with a focus on maternal and child health. SAMHSA’s Military and Veterans Affairs Liaison, will provide information and give an overview of available resources focused on serving our nation’s military and veteran families. Further, the webinar will focus on the importance of collaborating with community providers to ensure that even the needs of the youngest military and veteran family members are addressed through a continuum of care and supports.
Objectives: Participants will:
• Learn about the efforts of SAMHSA to meet the behavioral health needs of military and veterans families;
• Learn about the importance of effective partnerships and collaborations to provide services to military and veteran families;
• Become familiar with strategies for addressing maternal and child health for military and veteran families living in rural communities; and,
• To learn about available resources and information from SAMHSA focused on military and veteran families;
